Re: Some exercises.
Hello everybody,
In Bön we have Tsa Lung from the Mother Tantra and two cycles of Trul Khor from Dzogchen (ZZNG & A-Khrid) which focus on opening and clearing the rLung (Tib, prana - Skt, Qi - Chinese) as well as the Khor (Tib, Chakra - Skt).
For movements forms, many years ago I started with Tai Chi and Qi-gong, a little later Hatha Yoga, later still Kum Nye from Tarthang Tulku (Nyingma) and most recently with Bön, all of which have a similar intent - they tend to help calm the mind and a calm mind can result in a healthy body.
Some of the Tibetan Buddhist Traditions keep their exercises a little secret, only giving them as one progresses on the spiritual path.
Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche (Bön) however feels these should be more readily accessable as they can help with one's spiritual progress. Next week there is a Trul Khor Teaching with Alejandro Chaoul-Reich at Serenity Ridge in Virginia (USA). Alejandro works with cancer patients and others teaching Tsa Lung and Trul Khor minus the spiritual aspect (similar to how Hatha Yoga was seen as a form of fitness for many years) with excellent results.
So keep moving...
Best wishes,
Gerry
