An unpleasant offering

Post by LauraJ on Thu Apr 23, 2009 5:00 pm

There's a cat that hangs around me a lot (but it's not technically my pet). I was just sitting outside and I heard her mewing for a long time below my seat. When I looked down she had brought me a dead bird. It was really gross but she was very sincere.

It reminded me about transforming impure into pure and making offerings.

And when transformed into pure things they become daka's and dakinis, hero's and heroins of the pureland.....
milrepa said everywhere you look in samsara you can find a teaching, i like to take a leaf from that side, whisper mantras to the animals, ect.

The essence of making offerings is we are offering things we like ourselves, we are offering our attachments, without attachment.
